A couple of months ago a corner of my dining room area rug decided to curl up and stay that way.
How to keep rugs from curling up on the corners.
Letting the rug remain in this position for approximately 15 minutes should flatten the edges.
Not only did it look bad.
Attach a pair of flat cork backed rulers along the edges of each corner.
A carpet or rug should lay flat all around regardless of whether it sits on tile hardwood or another carpeted surface.
Keep cotton flat weave and other lightweight rugs from slipping around and curling with this tried and true trick.
Simply taking the carpet and laying it upside down will also help stop curling.
Step 6 reverse.
Carpets that curl up at the corners are a tripping hazard.
After bending roll the rug snugly against the curl for 1 2 its length.
You will need to bend the edge against the curl in the center of the double thickness the full length of the rug.
Using a large heavy duty needle and monofilament stitch through the rug and tie it around the ruler in a couple of spots to secure.
Printed jute rugs have a double thickness at the edge.
I was nervous someone was going to trip over the rug and whack their head right on the table i even tried duct tape to get the dang corner to stay but it was determined to stick up.
It may look odd for a while but you should have a flattened area rug in about a week or so.
